Seawater circuit

Intakes, filters, valves, and fittings

The seawater circuit transfers the heat absorbed by the air conditioner to the outside. To function correctly, it must ensure a continuous flow, limit pressure losses, prevent debris from entering, and allow for inspection and maintenance of the components.

Blue-Airco offers the components needed to create the complete path from the sea intake to the discharge: intakes, ball valves, filters, elbows, reducers, hose fittings, and seacocks, available in multiple sizes and selected for marine use.

The correct combination of diameters and components must be defined based on the unit, the pump, the length of the pipes, and the system's height difference.

The seawater circuit components are ideal for…

Self-contained air conditioning systems at 12V, 24V, and 48V DC, either with a pump dedicated to a single unit or with circuits shared among multiple air conditioners.

The range is suitable for new constructions and refits, when it is necessary to create, expand, or replace the seawater cooling circuit.

Related solution

Efficient Flow

In systems with multiple units, Efficient Flow regulates the distribution of seawater based on the units that are actually active, avoiding supplying all condensers in the same way when it is not necessary.

Range advantages

A complete path

Coordinated components for intake, interception, filtration, connection to the pump, condenser supply, and overboard discharge.

Corrosion-resistant materials

Sockets, valves, and fittings are available in CR brass; ball valves use a stainless steel handle.

Full-pass valves

They allow intercepting the circuit while maintaining an internal section suitable for the water flow.

Inspectable filtration

Seawater filters are available in multiple diameters, with marine-grade polypropylene body and 12 mesh screen; for some sizes, a transparent polycarbonate lid is available.

More diameters for different systems

The range includes components from 1/2″ up to 1 1/2″, depending on the type.

Simplified maintenance

The correct arrangement of valve and filter allows isolating and controlling the circuit without intervening on the entire system.

Sizing support

Blue-Airco can specify compatible diameters, pump, and lengths with the expected configuration.

How the circuit is configured

01

Sea intake

The intake must be sized for the required flow rate and fitted with a shut-off valve that can stop the water flow.

02

Seawater filter

It retains debris and impurities before the water reaches the pump and must remain readily accessible for inspection and cleaning.

03

Circulation pump

The seawater pump is selected according to the circuit's required flow rate and head, as well as the available supply voltage.

04

Air-conditioner condenser

It must receive the water flow required for heat exchange through piping of suitable diameter and length.

05

Overboard discharge

It must ensure regular discharge and, wherever possible, allow visual confirmation of water flow during operation.
